MFB Indy is pleased to be hosting a special distribution on Tuesday, November 22nd from 12:00pm to 5:00pm! Feed the Children will be bringing some food to our location, and we have the great opportunity to partner with them. We have over 80 volunteers that will be giving their time to help with this event.

FEED THE CHILDREN TO BRING HELP AND HOPE TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN INDIANAPOLIS

1,600 Families to Receive Food and Essentials

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 16, 2011) – Feed The Children will bring four truckloads of food and essentials to Indianapolis on Tuesday, Nov. 22. The items will be distributed at noon to 1,600 families at Midwest Food Bank (6450 South Belmont).

Feed The Children partner agency Midwest Food Bank has identified the recipient families. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food, a 10-pound box of essentials and a box of Avon products. The items are designed to help a family for up to one week.

The distribution is part of Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 310,000 families across the country since it began in 2009.

One in four children living in Indianapolis (25.3 percent) is considered impoverished. The number of children living in poverty in Indiana (342,172) could fill Lucas Oil Stadium more than four times.  

"Our Americans Feeding Americans project helps those affected by the economic downturn,” said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children. "A lot of these people considered themselves middle class just a few years ago and for the first time in their lives, have not been able to provide for their families. This distribution will provide relief for them at a crucial time.”
