Volunteers make it Happen!

    A volunteer group from a local church spent time in our warehouse recently bagging high quality dried Cranberry Beans. Thanks to this productive crew our partnering agencies will receive these nutritious beans along with recipes and tips for preparing dried beans. 1,503 bags prepared and ready to go for our next distribution!

Small Gifts give Much Hope

Who says SMALL givings can't make a BIG difference?  Generous school children and families from Peoria Academy collected food on a cold November day to benefit those we serve at MFB. These little hearts bundled up to load up the pick up with their donations.  It was important to these little helping hands to carry a big dose of Hope in each can, box, or bag.  We are so thankful for all donations BIG or SMALL.   …

Our Giving Record

We've hit a new record!  October was a fruitful month of giving allowing us to distribute more than 36,000 cases of foods to our partnering agencies.  We are so thankful that in November over 37,000 cases have been distributed.   Our generous and committed volunteers moved, packaged, and loaded up these cases for our partneriring agencies to distribute to those in need.  For this we are truly THANKFUL.

A Busy Fall

Besides getting food out to the agencies we partner with every month we have been very busy receiving food and funds from recent events.  The Midwest Food Bank relies on these donated foods and funds to keep local food pantries and soup kitchens stocked.   A huge THANK YOU to all volunteers that have given their precious time and energy to these events.  Without volunteers we couldn't do all that …

2014 Clay Shoot for Hunger

Our 5th Annual Clay Shoot for Hunger in Mackinaw, IL on Saturday, June 28th was a huge success thanks to the Oak Ridge Sportman's Club, all the sponsors, volunteers and God for the great weather and conditions for the shooters.  This increasingly popular event drew 148 shooters to aim and shoot 100 clays through a course designed for all levels of experience.  Top shooter and teams where recognized after a hearty lunch.
