Dear Friend of Midwest Food Bank,

What an extraordinary time this is! Just one short month ago, we would not have thought all of the changes we've been through were possible. And yet now many of us are sheltering in place, watching unusual events unfold.

Much has changed in the 15 years since Midwest Food Bank began providing Disaster Relief after Hurricane Katrina. Having distributed help and hope to flood, tornado, and hurricane victims, we have used each opportunity as a learning experience. That involvement has prepared us for relief in the time of COVID-19.

Midwest Food Bank has shipped 11 semi-loads of family food boxes to locations all over the United States. Our faithful partner, The Salvation Army, has requested an additional 40 loads which we will ship in the next few weeks. Carefully following sanitary and social distancing recommendations, Midwest Food Bank will fill those requested orders and more. We see this as a perfect opportunity to live out our mission of sharing the love of Christ.

Thank you for your support of Midwest Food Bank. Please continue to pray for us as we work to alleviate suffering. With God's help, we will continue to share His love and bring help and hope to our struggling neighbors.

Finally, let's follow and share what we read in Joshua 1:9: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

In His Service,

David Keiser
