"I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." Matthew 25:35-36

In Bridgeport, CT, people of all ages and circumstances have access to food 24/6. Gospel Mission pantry, supported by Kingdom Builders Impact Ministry, is open 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday.

"The ministry feeds an average of 80-110 folks daily," says Pastor Ken Smith. "We collect data that 700 individuals use the pantry a week."

They operate on this idea - "impact one life, change a community." That one life might be a little girl saying, "can we really have cereal again?" when her single mom of four children visits the pantry. Or, it might be the man that came to the pantry at 1:30 a.m. and only took bread. He then sat down near the pantry to eat the bread. Midwest Food Bank New England supplies food to Gospel Mission without charge. That helps them reach those 700 individuals each week.

"MFB is a critical partner for our ministry," says Pastor Ken. "they give us a variety of items that folks cannot afford, like cereal."

The pantry is so busy that volunteers must repaint the ramp every three months. Four committed volunteers oversee all aspects of Gospel Mission and live out the Gospel of feeding the multitudes.

"What I like best about Gospel Mission is doing what Jesus Christ did in serving others by feeding them and bringing souls to Jesus," says Pastor Ken.

"We are privileged to share a common mission with Gospel Mission of sharing the love of Christ by feeding others," says Jan Young, Executive Director of MFB New England. "We appreciate their passion and dedication."
