Indiana Moves Forward With New Facility

Midwest Food Bank Indiana has taken a significant step toward bringing its team and operations together by acquiring 8.45 acres at 6400 South Belmont Avenue. This land purchase advances the Under One Roof campaign and moves the division closer to building a unified facility that improves efficiency and strengthens service across the state.

This project aims to combine two current warehouse spaces into one location, creating a more streamlined environment for staff, volunteers, and agency partners. Consolidating operations will reduce logistical strain, improve communication, and support a more connected culture of service.

Executive Director Diara Nicholson shared that the future building represents more than added space. It reflects a commitment to collaboration, volunteer support, and the mission to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. She noted that the campaign has been underway for years, made possible by the dedication of staff, volunteers, and donors who believe in expanding services across Indiana.

The division will continue planning alongside Brock Gerber to design a facility that meets the growing needs of partner nonprofits while creating a welcoming environment for volunteers. As media coverage begins, supporters can follow the progress of the Under One Roof campaign and remain connected to each milestone.

This step forward reflects community faithfulness and the shared goal of strengthening service for the many nonprofit partners who rely on Midwest Food Bank Indiana.
