The 7th Annual Million Meal Marathon was held on October 10, 2017. Thousands of happy volunteers filled the Lucas Oil Stadium to pack food. Local businesses, firefighters, police officers, Colts players and cheerleaders worked side-by side with Students, families, friends and neighbors. All had the same mission: feed hungry Hoosiers.

Midwest Food Bank was fortunate to be a partner in this effort, distributing the food to our partner agencies throughout the state. The food will help the 1 in 5 Indiana children suffering from food insecurity. Not only that, but enough food was collected to provide disaster relief to victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. In addition to the meals, the shipment contained 100 5-gallon buckets for water filtration systems, 50 tarps and 50 airmatresses.

"Midwest Food Bank is blessed to be a part of this amazing event," says Midwest Food Bank Executive Director John Whitaker. "More than 900 students learned the value of giving back to those in need."
