Rotary donation benefits MFB Florida

A donation from some area Rotary clubs will help reduce monthly costs at Midwest Food Bank Florida. The Rotary Club of Ft. Myers, the Sunrise Rotary Club, and Rotary District 6960 donated $12,989 to MFB recently.

The donation was used to replace a refrigeration unit on a trailer. This improvement ensures we keep the food fresh as we transport it across the state. The new unit can be plugged in during the weekend hours and saves MFB about $1,250 each month.

Local Rotary clubs also donated money for holiday food boxes in December and volunteers also helped pack the food boxes. Rotary International has a motto of "service above self" and MFB values their donations and volunteer spirit.
