At Midwest Food Bank, Share Partners make a continual positive impact. They donate a set amount on a regular schedule - weekly, monthly, or quarterly. If you think our Share Partners are all wealthy retirees giving huge amounts, we'd like to introduce you to Allysha.

Allysha Nordyke lives in Los Angeles, CA, and works for the government. She is involved in her community through her church. Allysha likes to hike, camp, read and write books, and spend time with her dog, Obie.

First learning of MFB through the Florida division, Allysha was a member of the office staff before moving away. There have been three more moves since then. She has remained connected to MFB by volunteering with the central team to benefit our locations throughout the U.S.

"The central team is one of the most incredible groups of people I know, supporting each location worldwide," says Allysha.  "There is so much more to MFB than what we can do from the warehouse - from Human Resources to communications to grant writing. The work behind the scenes often gets done quietly but with great love."

2020 was a challenging year for all of us, including Allysha. When she went through a personal crisis, she found love, prayer, and compassion from her MFB family. She is grateful for the "God moment" that brought her to MFB.

Being young and having student loan debt, Allysha is not able to be a major donor. Nor is she able to be on-site to volunteer every day.
"MFB takes what I can offer and turns it into a blessing that can be felt by many," says Allysha. "Not once has anyone ever let me feel shame or guilt for the small piece I can share, but instead have helped me to see how each small gift makes an impact!"
