Agencies Together

Reflecting on Community Partnerships

Peoria Midwest Food Bank could not distribute donated food to the many people in need in our communities without the 310 partnering agencies we served in 2017. United in the efforts to alleviate hunger these; large-scaled feeding programs, small-town food pantries, or homeless shelters across 40 counties in Illinois, Iowa, and Kentucky received 320 semi loads of food (averaging $56,130/year/agency) from Midwest Food Bank for FREE.

We recently sat down with 330+ representatives of 204 partnering agencies we serve at our Peoria warehouse every month. Our goal was to provide information on how we are working to improve the efficiency and safety of how we serve them.

It was a perfect time to share Tender Mercies new "Idea Kit". The box contains our new Tender Mercies packaging and an abundance of ideas as to how it can enhance and benefit their community. If you wish to know more or request a kit please contact Monica. (309) 691-5270.

At each session we were pleased to be able to answer questions and share ideas and possiblities. Many of our partner agencies responded stating they were greatly encouraged.

"Just wanted to express our appreciation for wonderful and inspiring presentations you are providing to the multiple partners of the Midwest Food Bank. I found the experience very grounding for me and I'm glad that I was able to benefit from thoughtful reflection offered by your words to us all!" Sharon from Family Core, Peoria, IL

"Just wanted to say... GREAT meeting last night! I wish our whole staff could have been there. Super proud to be a partner agency!" Sarah from Horizons Social Services, Quincy, IL
