Help Us Give Clean Water to Families in Flint, MI

Midwest Food Bank Indianapolis Division Works with Fox 59, Local Businesses, and Churches to Collect Water for Flint, Michigan

Midwest Food Bank's Indianapolis Division will be working with Fox 59, HH Gregg, and Eastern Star Church to provide multiple semi loads of water to those in need in Flint Michigan. John Whitaker stated, We received calls this week from Fox 59, HH Gregg and Eastern Star Church asking for help in collecting and transporting water to Flint. We are happy to help as our mission is to serve our community and others who may be impacted by disasters such as this and who are without the basic necessities of life. Bringing relief and hope to the hurting and helpless in the name of Jesus Christ is what we are called to do and this is another opportunity to work out that calling. Midwest Food Bank and Fox 59 will be collecting local donations of water at the HH Gregg Castleton Store located at 4161 E. 96th Street in Indianapolis from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27. Midwest is asking for donations of bottled water in cases (no loose bottles) be brought so they can help those in the wake of this terrible situation. As a faith-based organization, it is the mission of Midwest Food Bank to bring hope and help alleviate hunger by gathering and distributing food donations to non-profit agencies and disaster sites without cost to the recipients. Midwest Food Bank serves over 750 agencies which assist hundreds of thousands of needy individuals through its six divisions. In addition, MFB responds to disasters across the US and worldwide. This year Midwest's Indianapolis Division will distribute over 15 million pounds of food and relief valued at over 30 million dollars. Midwest distributes this relief at no cost to the recipients.
