Volunteer couple leading the way at MFB Morton

When busy work schedules and family life started to slow down and transition to the next phase, Brent and Jeanne Reddish decided to look for a place to share their time. That search led them to Midwest Food Bank Morton after talking with Gib Rappan active board member for MFB East Africa.

"Gib's passion and information about MFB gave us the best impression," says Jeanne. "We started by learning to lead volunteer groups."

Team leaders at MFB locations help staff by facilitating and working alongside volunteer groups. Being with others who want to give of their time is a rewarding experience.

While the couple's work experiences - Jeanne in operational management and Brent in sales and management - certainly benefit MFB, their heart for being the hands of feet of God is the best benefit.

"It's rewarding to be involved with so many people that want to volunteer, give their time and understand the culture of volunteering for such a great need," says Brent. "The groups we have led with younger children are especially rewarding as they become aware of the impact of their efforts. Many get excited, wide-eyed smiles, and that is worth every minute."

Brent and Jeanne have been married for 42 years and have three children and nine grandchildren. They love to golf together and have a goal of golfing in all 50 states. They plan to make volunteering a family tradition and include the next generations.
