City of Chandler grant to MFB Arizona leads to food box distributions

It was a team effort on Super Bowl Sunday in Chandler when volunteers worked with a local church to give family food boxes to people that need them.

It started before that with a $40,000 grant from the City of Chandler to Midwest Food Bank Arizona. The grant was specifically for food boxes in low-income areas of the city.

On that Sunday, volunteers Terry Murphy and Ernesto Montano delivered 500 food boxes and 2,000 pounds of diapers to the Church of God New Vision.

"We are blessed to have the opportunity to serve our community by delivering much-needed food boxes to a local church," says Ernesto. "I grew up in that area and know the need is great."

This food box distribution is one of the 5,000 boxes that will be given to low-income areas in Chandler with the grant money. A win for sure!
