New Executive Director hired at MFB Bloomington-Normal, IL

Aimee and Brian Beam

The work of Midwest Food Bank (MFB) is not new to Aimee Beam. For the last decade, she has worked with the people who receive food from MFB, most recently serving on the Executive Leadership team of The Baby Fold, a large nonprofit in Normal, IL. Aimee is the new Executive Director of MFB Bloomington-Normal, IL. She is replacing former Executive Director Tara Ingham, who is relocating out of state.

Aimee's path to MFB started when she transitioned from marketing and consulting to the nonprofit sector about 15 years ago. "I felt called to make a bigger impact for God's people and take good care of the corner of the world He assigned to me," says Aimee.

In her role at MFB, Aimee will ensure that MFB programs are executed with efficient use of facilities, employees, and volunteers. She will also manage budgeting, fundraising, community engagement, and other requirements for nonprofit operations. Aimee's team also distributes food in Fairfield, IL, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

"We are excited to have Aimee and her leadership experience joining the MFB organization," says Eric Hodel, CEO of Midwest Food Bank. "She brings a strong record of developing resources and empowering volunteers to serve those in need."

Aimee is married to Brian, who works at Illinois State University, and the couple have two daughters in college - Allie and Lizzy. The couple enjoys cheering on the ISU Redbirds, and Aimee is active in many local and community groups and organizations that impact the future direction of the Bloomington-Normal area.

Already, Aimee knows God led her to the right place. "The staff and volunteers have huge hearts and the best smiles. You can feel God working through his people," says Aimee. "I also love the complexity of the operation and how each person plays such an important part in keeping MFB running smoothly."

Aimee holds a master's degree in nonprofit administration and a bachelor's degree in economics. She is a certified nonprofit professional from the National Alliance of Nonprofit Professionals and has a certification in fundraising management from the Lilly School of Philanthropy at IUPUI. Aimee is also the most recent McLean County Athena Leadership Award recipient.
