Calling from God brings new Volunteer Coordinator to MFB Bloomington-Normal

After a varied career, including sales, publishing, logistics, and the mortgage industry, Steven Bishop has followed a calling from God into coaching and youth ministry. Now he is adding another meaningful career to his life. Steven is the new part-time Volunteer Coordinator at MFB Bloomington-Normal.

Steven grew up in Bloomington and Normal and graduated from Bloomington High School and Heartland Community College. After graduating from Northern Illinois University, he moved to Florida, where he met his wife. They have lived in Indiana, but are currently settled in the Bloomington area. She and Steven are both youth leaders in their church and coaches.

When they moved back, Steven needed a job, but wanted to do something he could feel passionate about. "I wanted something purposeful that aligned with my core values," says Steven. When he saw the posting for part-time Volunteer Coordinator and learned about MFB and our mission, he knew he had to apply.

"We are grateful to add an additional Volunteer Coordinator to our team and to welcome Steven onboard," says Tara Ingham. "Steven will serve our volunteers during the morning hours when distribution schedules tend to bring a higher volume of volunteers into the warehouse."

"My favorite part of this job is that I get to serve the Lord everyday with great people," says Steven.

Steven and his wife have two children, Augustine and Amylia.
